Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations while adhering to all safety regulations. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service, punctuality, and the ability to handle diverse types of freight, including refrigerated trailers and flatbeds.
Duties
- Operate commercial vehicles, including tankers, flatbeds, and refrigerated trailers, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Load and unload cargo as required, ensuring proper handling of goods.
- Follow designated routes for timely deliveries while maintaining compliance with traffic laws and regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of hours driven and vehicle maintenance checks.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Utilize manual transmission skills as needed for specific routes or vehicle types.
- Operate forklifts when necessary for loading and unloading cargo at various locations.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle being operated.
- Proven experience in route driving with a strong understanding of local and regional roadways.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles proficiently.
- Experience with loading and unloading freight, including knowledge of proper securing techniques for various cargo types.
- Familiarity with operating refrigerated trailers is preferred but not mandatory.
- Forklift certification is a plus but can be obtained after hiring if necessary.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to manage delivery schedules effectively.
- Commitment to safety protocols and regulations in all driving activities.
