Routes will start in Dayton, New Jersey and end in Dayton, New Jersey daily. Routes run up to Massachusetts and back with a 53' dry van trailer. Some routes run only in New Jersey. All routes are no touch freight to the driver and drop and hook.
Routes vary based on availability. Currently looking for a part time weekend cover driver, this position can lead to full time employment if interested once available.
Full time contractors earn up to $156,000 per year and are home daily!
Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A tractor-trailers, including manual transmission vehicles, across designated routes.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks when necessary.
- Transport dry van trailers as required, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
- Follow route schedules precisely to meet delivery deadlines while maintaining high safety standards.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on trucks and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws, as well as company policies regarding driving hours and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, mileage logs, and other required records.
Experience
- 2 Years Class A CDL license with a clean driving record.
- Familiarity with route driving and drop and hook freight.
- Demonstrated ability to safely handle freight loads and operate different types of commercial vehicles in diverse environments. This position is ideal for experienced drivers seeking part-time weekend work with flexible hours while utilizing their trucking expertise in a professional setting.
