Summary
As a Local Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer to deliver goods within the designated route, ensuring timely and efficient service. Reporting to the Transportation Manager, you will utilize your core skills in commercial driving and truck operation, while also leveraging premium skills such as handling refrigerated trailers and flatbeds.
Responsibilities
- Operate a commercial truck to transport goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving a tractor-trailer.
- Load and unload freight, utilizing forklifts and other equipment as necessary.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours and deliveries, reporting any issues to management.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to coordinate delivery schedules.
