Schedule
Monday - Friday, 4:30am start time
Here’s What You’ll Do
- Support supervisors to plan efficient, effective, and safe routes for all PNW regional delivery areas.
- Adjust routes and schedules as necessary to meet customer requests.
- Coordinate appointments for pickup and delivery.
- Communicate necessary routing operations information and schedules with internal customers, carriers, vendors, team members, and management.
- Complete routing reports and other documentation; adjust and review documentation with appropriate staff, distribute as needed.
- Enter and maintain detailed and accurate information in the transportation software regarding fleet specifications, delivery constraints, customer preferences, driver schedules, routing details, etc.
- Assist in investigating opportunities to develop backhaul business with customers and other vendors.
- Provide backup to the driver team as needed, driving delivery routes when unanticipated coverage is required.
- Review maintenance schedules and available equipment, and makes recommendations for equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, and availability.
- Assist in the proper reporting of all accidents, and for ensuring all drivers receive the necessary training.
- Assist in maintaining fleet to ensure compliance with safety, DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA standards.
Requirements
Qualified candidates will have:
- Current Class A CDL is required.
- 3-5 years of related experience in operations or transportation/logistics.
- A minimum of two years transportation experience is preferred.
- Experience using routing and dispatch TMS software and electronic log software is required.
- Understand retail and vendor landscape, routing, and dispatch, backhaul opportunities, truck safety and DOT compliance, cold chain custody, the product line, and seasons.
- Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations is required.
- Ability to operate computers efficiently; knowledge of basic programs including Microsoft Office products, ERP, and routing and dispatch software.
- Ability to work cohesively in a team environment; able to switch tasks quickly and efficiently as needed.
- High attention to detail and ability to focus for extended periods of time.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Be self-driven and able to work independently, Timely with meeting work commitments.
- Supports supervisors to plan efficient, effective, and safe routes for all PNW regional delivery areas.
Even Better If You Bring
- Forklift certification and experience operating a pallet jack. Equipment trainer certification is preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of geographical surroundings and roadways of Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Montana preferred.
- Knowledge of sustainable business practices preferred.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to stand for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular and consistent basis. Must be able to work in a cold and damp environment for extended periods of time. Work environment may include exposure to dust, ice, dirt, noise, and vibration. In addition, repetitive motion, mainly of the shoulder, back, wrist, and hands, may be required in this position. Standing, stooping, and bending required. Ability to meet the above description of position with or without reasonable accommodation.
